Via Cuma 6: parking, metro, bus and bike, without going in circles

The office is in Santa Lucia, a few steps from Castel dell’Ovo and the Via Partenope seafront. This page lists the nearest garages, the public transport that stops a few minutes from the door, navigation links, and how early to arrive. If you would prefer not to travel at all, the online consultation is described at the bottom of the page.

In short

  • The address: Via Cuma 6, 80132 Naples (Santa Lucia), intercom Studio Notarile Fiorentino. Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm.
  • By car: five covered garages within a five-minute walk, plus paid on-street parking (blue lines) in the area. At peak times the seafront is slow: please allow twenty extra minutes.
  • By public transport: metro Line 6 stops about seven minutes on foot from the office (Chiaia station), or ten minutes from Municipio station, where you can also change to Line 1 (Toledo station, about fourteen minutes on foot). If you are running late, please let us know on WhatsApp at +39 352 2737467.

📍 Via Cuma 6, 80132 Naples

Open the map or start navigation with one tap. The Google map loads only if you ask for it: until you press the button, no data is sent to Google.

For Street View: the office’s Google Maps listing opens, then drag the yellow pegman onto number 6, Via Cuma. That way you can see the entrance before you set off.

Approximate GPS coordinates: 40.832757 N, 14.249553 E (Via Cuma 6, Santa Lucia). They indicate the area, not the exact street number: for the entrance, please use the navigation links below, which lead precisely to Via Cuma 6.

Where can I park near the office?

A free parking space right outside the door in Santa Lucia is rare. As the Neapolitan saying goes, «nun se po’ avé ‘a votta chiena e ‘a mugliera ‘mbriaca» — you cannot have the barrel full and the wife drunk: either you hunt for a free space, or you arrive on time. A covered garage is the calmer choice.

A couple of honest warnings

There’s a saying used here for everything, and it applies to parking too: «’a gatta pe’ jì ‘e pressa facette ‘e figlie cecate» — the cat, rushing to be quick, gave birth to blind kittens. Three things worth knowing before you set off.

  • Height matters. Not all the garages above publish a height limit online: if you drive a tall SUV or a van, please call ahead.
  • Peak hours. Between 8 and 9.30am and between 5 and 7pm the seafront and the Riviera fill up. It’s not spite: it’s the whole city going to work at once. If your appointment is at 9am, leave an extra twenty minutes.
  • Illegal parking is never worth it. A fine or a tow costs far more than two hours in a garage.
  • No restricted traffic zone around here. The City of Naples’ Chiaia restricted zone is a different area (via dei Mille, via Filangieri, via Santa Caterina a Chiaia, piazza dei Martiri) and only operates on Saturdays, from 10am to 1.30pm and from 4 to 10pm: Via Cuma and the Santa Lucia area are not part of it. Restricted zones can still change for events: check the day’s signage on comune.napoli.it.

The best times to come by car

  • 10am to noon. The calmest window of the morning: the commuter rush has passed and parking in the area’s garages is easier to find.
  • 2.30pm to 4.30pm. The afternoon starts slowly: if your appointment is early afternoon, this is when the Riviera breathes easier.
  • Best avoided, if you can: 8–9.30am and 5–7pm on weekdays, when the seafront and the Riviera fill up; Saturday afternoons, when people stroll in Santa Lucia and along the Riviera; and days with events or races on the seafront, when Via Caracciolo is closed to traffic.
  • If it’s raining, add ten minutes to any estimate: in Naples, rain multiplies the cars on the road.

How do I get there by metro or bus?

This is one of the best-connected parts of Naples by rail: metro Line 6 and Line 1 are both a few minutes’ walk from the door.

Metro Line 6 — Chiaia and Municipio stations

Line 6 connects Mostra (Fuorigrotta) to Piazza Municipio with eight stations: Mostra, Augusto, Lala, Mergellina, Arco Mirelli, San Pasquale, Chiaia, Municipio. From Chiaia station the office is about seven minutes on foot; from Municipio it is about ten minutes, and there you can also change to Line 1.

Please check the timetable, as service hours are shorter than one might expect: the service is currently reduced, usually until early afternoon on weekdays and even earlier at weekends. Before setting off, and especially for the return journey, please check the current timetable on anm.it or in the Gira Napoli app.

Metro Line 1 — Municipio and Toledo stations

Line 1 runs from Napoli Centrale / Piazza Garibaldi through the city centre. From Municipio the office is about ten minutes on foot; from Toledo, about fourteen minutes.

Bus

The Santa Lucia area is served by several ANM bus lines, but routes here are often changed for roadworks and traffic measures decided by the City. Rather than give a line number that may no longer be correct tomorrow, we suggest you check the line and the stop on the day on anm.it or by opening the public-transport route on Google Maps, which shows live timetables. The useful stops are those around Via Santa Lucia and Via Chiatamone.

Taxi and ferries

  • Taxi: there are taxi ranks in the Santa Lucia area, and you can call the city’s taxi co-operatives (Consortaxi 081 2222, Taxi Napoli 081 8888, Radio Taxi Partenope 081 0101). The City of Naples sets some fixed fares: for example, from Capodichino airport to the office (San Ferdinando/Santa Lucia zone) the fare is 28.50 euros per ride, not per person (City of Naples, Council resolution no. 258 of 27/6/2024). Please ask for the fixed fare before getting in.
  • Hydrofoils and ferries: the small harbour of Santa Lucia is a few minutes’ walk away and is one of the departure points for Capri, Ischia and Procida.

By bike, e-scooter or moped?

If the weather is good — and in Naples it often is — arriving from the seafront is the nicest route of the day. Along Via Caracciolo runs the seafront cycle path, which connects Santa Lucia to the Piazza Vittoria area and continues toward the centre: from there it’s a short climb up to the office.

  • Sharing services. Naples has free-floating e-scooter and e-bike sharing services (among the operators recently listed: BIT Mobility for scooters and Napoli’n Bike Sharing for bikes), as well as scooter sharing and car sharing. Coverage, available vehicles and rates change often: check the app before counting on it.
  • Your own e-scooter. Remember the national rules in force (helmet, number plate, insurance: the up-to-date rules are on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport’s website) and never leave it in front of a driveway.
  • Moped. The choice of those who know Naples well. We can’t guarantee anything about the moped parking on Via Cuma: check the signage on site, as the spaces change with roadworks.
  • On foot. From Castel dell’Ovo and the Santa Lucia seafront it is a few minutes; from the Villa Comunale park, a walk along the Riviera.

Coming from the station or the airport: how long does it take?

From Napoli Centrale

The simplest route is Line 1: board at Napoli Centrale / Piazza Garibaldi and get off at Municipio or Toledo; from there it is ten to fourteen minutes on foot. A taxi is the alternative, but with the traffic on Corso Umberto it can take considerably longer than the metro: for a fixed-time appointment, the train is more predictable.

From Capodichino airport

  • Alibus + metro. ANM’s Alibus connects the airport to Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Municipio, departing every 20 minutes; the full route takes about 35 minutes and the ticket costs 5 euros (6 euros if bought on board), valid for 90 minutes. From Piazza Municipio the office is about ten minutes on foot, or you can take Line 6 to Chiaia.
  • Taxi. With the City’s fixed fare, the ride from the airport to the office (San Ferdinando/Santa Lucia zone) costs 28.50 euros. The most convenient option if you have luggage.

In every case, bear in mind that the times quoted by operators are good-case times: Neapolitan traffic is a variable with a personality of its own. If you’re arriving from out of town on the same day, book your appointment with an hour’s margin on your flight or train.

How long from my neighbourhood?

These are approximate times, traffic permitting. They aren’t measurements or promises: they are reasonable ranges, worked out from the distances and the connections that exist. The driving time doesn’t include the minutes needed to park, which in Santa Lucia are never zero. For a real-time estimate, updated to the minute, use the navigation links below.

I have an appointment: how early should I arrive?

For a consultation, five minutes early is enough. For signing a deed we ask you to be at the office fifteen minutes early: we need the time to check identity documents and tax codes, sort out cheques and bank transfers, and get everyone seated — which for a property purchase with a mortgage often means six or seven people.

The practical things, in order

  • The door: Via Cuma 6. On the intercom look for Studio Notarile Fiorentino.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm. Outside these hours, appointments can be arranged for particular cases.
  • If you’re running late: message us on WhatsApp at +39 352 2737467. Letting us know takes ten seconds and lets us reorganise, especially when more than one person is involved in the deed.
  • Documents: bring a valid identity document and the tax code (codice fiscale) of every signatory. The full list, deed by deed, is on the Documents to bring to the office page.
  • Who needs to be present: everyone who has to sign the deed, each with a valid document; if a signatory is missing, the deed can’t go ahead. For a power of attorney for someone who can’t come, let’s talk about it beforehand: the power of attorney for a notarial deed must itself be given in front of a notary.
  • If you arrive early: the cafés on Via Santa Lucia are a convenient place to wait, a short walk from the office.
  • Accessibility: we don’t publish information we can’t guarantee in writing. If you need to know in advance how the entrance is set up, whether you’ll need help getting in, or if you’d prefer the appointment to be arranged differently, call us on +39 352 2737467: we’ll tell you exactly what to expect and find the best solution.

⏰ If you’re running late

It happens, and it’s not a drama: message us on WhatsApp at +39 352 2737467 as soon as you realise. We’ll tell you right away whether we can push things back a few minutes or whether it’s better to reschedule, and when more than one person is involved in the deed, we’ll let the others know. If you’d rather talk, the number is the same: +39 352 2737467.

“Jamm’ ja'” (let’s go) and “facite ampress'” (hurry up): two Neapolitan phrases worth more than a stopwatch. Otherwise, a message is all it takes.

Frequently asked questions about getting here

What’s the closest parking to the office?

Parking Plebiscito, at Via Santa Lucia 38, is the closest: about one minute on foot. If it is full, Garage Pallonetto and Power Santalucia are both about two minutes away. Not all garages in the area publish their maximum height online: if you drive an SUV or a van, please call before arriving.

What’s the nearest metro stop?

Chiaia, on Line 6: about seven minutes on foot. Municipio, about ten minutes away, is also a Line 1 interchange. Line 6 currently runs reduced hours: please check anm.it or the Gira Napoli app before setting off, especially for the return journey.

Can I come by bike or e-scooter?

Yes. Via Caracciolo has the seafront cycle path, and the city has e-scooter and e-bike sharing services; coverage changes often, so check the app before you set off. For moped parking on Via Cuma, please check the signage on site, as the spaces change with roadworks.

I’m running late: do I need to cancel?

Almost never. Message us on WhatsApp at +39 352 2737467 as soon as you realise you won’t make it: for a consultation, pushing things back a few minutes is usually enough. If it’s the signing of a deed with several parties and the bank involved, letting us know straight away lets us warn the others and avoid wrecking anyone’s day.

What if I really can’t come to the office?

A consultation, a quote, document checks and reading the draft can all be done entirely remotely with the online consultation. Signing the deed requires being present before the notary, or a special power of attorney, except in the particular cases provided for by law (for example, forming a limited company by videoconference).

What we don’t publish. We don’t publish individual garages’ hourly rates, the exact number of moped parking spaces, or details about the accessibility of the entrance: these are things that change or that we can’t guarantee. Where it matters, you’ll find “check on site” written, or a number to call. We’d rather tell you less and tell you the truth. The times in the neighbourhood table are our own estimates, stated as such.

⚖️ What notarial law says

Article 26 of the Italian notarial law requires a notary to keep an office open at their assigned location, available to anyone who needs their services: even in the age of online consultations, an address where you can find us remains a legal requirement, not a detail (art. 26, law 89/1913 – normattiva.it, in Italian).
